Liners are the most economical, versatile materials for pond construction. They are comparable to concrete in durability and length of life, without the expense and labour. Rocks or earth or other permanent materials should protect liner surfaces not covered by water. Calculating the Correct Size of Liner Required Width: Maximum Width of Pond + (2 x Maximum Depth of Pond) + 2' overlap Length: Maximum Length of Pond + (2 x Maximum Depth of Pond) + 2' overlap Example: Pond Size 6' x 8' x 3' deep Width: 6 + (2 x 3) + 2 = 14' Length: 8 + (2 x 3) + 2 = 16' The liner size required is 15' x 16' Up to 100' length by: 5', 15', 20', or 25' widths. Snails will feed on algae on the sides of the pond and pots. Melanthos are often seen feeding across the surface of the water. Snails do not clear green water. Snails will usually overwinter in the pond.
